Fudgey and incredibly rich dulce de leche brownies with easy 3-ingredient homemade dulce de leche sauce swirled throughout and drizzled on top!
8 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup flour
Dulce de Leche Sauce
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8×8 inch pan with foil or parchment paper and spray with nonstick spray. Set aside.
First, prepare the dulce de leche sauce. Add brown sugar and whipping cream to a small-medium sauce pan and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Continue to cook for 5 minutes, stirring throughout. Stir in sweetened condensed milk. Remove from heat and set aside.
In a medium sauce pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add chocolate chips and stir over medium heat until chocolate is melted. Remove from heat and stir in cocoa powder and vanilla.
In a large bowl, whisk sugar, salt, and flour. Pour chocolate mixture into the flour bowl and add the eggs. Mix well. Spread batter evenly in prepared baking pan.
Drizzle about 1/3 of the dulce de leche sauce over the brownie batter. Use a knife to swirl the sauce into the batter (just make figure-8 patterns until it’s swirled in a bit). Bake for 30-35 minutes until brownies are set. Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving drizzled with remaining dulce de leche sauce. (If sauce has cooled too much, just reheat it in the microwave for about 20 seconds)
